Mount Londiani Recce.

Pristine Indigenous Forest...

This weekend myself, Andrew Nightingale (Kembu Camp) and some staff members from St Andrews Turi School went exploring to find a route to the summit of Mt. Londiani. The objective was to find a days route up to the telecommunications masts from the direction of Mt. Kiplombe. We reached 3km into our gorge of choice in 2 days... not even a quarter of the way in!

What we did discover was Africa untouched. Check out the adventure...

The start of the hike up the gorge from the Kampala Rail line...

Yucca's in the pristine indigenous forest...

We followed the stream and an irrigation pipe put in pre independence...

Our nights camp in the gorge... on the trail!

Indiana Jones country...
Watch this space for future updates! We are already planning an extended recce deeper into the Mountain for the end of this year and ultimately plan on opening up this amazing Mountain for Community guided hikes. A massive thanks to Andrew & Zoe Nightingale of Kembu Campsite & Cottages for all the support...
