school club's first river trip...

This weekend saw the first ever river trips by a bunch of new kayakers in Kenya!

The group came from Braeburn Garden Estate International School here in Nairobi, and consisted of Mads from Year 9, Deepshika from Year 10 and Blanes and Zubair from Year 12.

We all had a fantastic time with good levels and lots of sunshine! The guys stepped up to the challenge and paddled really well after only ever kayaking in a swimming pool. Check out the photo's...

Scouting their first ever rapid... do you remember your's!?!

Mads nailing the line on the Tana:)

Bush whacking down to the put in on the Thiba

With the gang at the put in... let the fun commence!

Blains nailing the line

Mr Ninja himself cruising! (this guy is rolling on flat water and t-rescuing in class 3!)

Scouting The Mission on the Tana... decided to save this for another day!;)

Identifying the line on the last rapids of the Tana's commercial section

Which went swimmingly for Mads!

Blains throws a wave wheel... haha, kidding folks, but he did t-rescue!
A big thanks to Mr Sjoberg from Braeburn for helping start and run the club (and all the photo's).

Another big thanks to Fluid kayaks for making great boats for us to paddle.

And the biggest thanks to you junior Jedi's who styled it!

See you on the water!

Kris
